Medical Convoy Serves 890 Residents in Al-Mahmoudia Village, Itsa

Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, and Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, and under the supervision of Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organized a comprehensive medical and awareness caravan at the health unit in Al-Mahmoudia village, Itsa Center, in cooperation with Hayah karima Foundation, the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry, and the Fayoum Health Directorate.

The Convoy was supervised by Prof. Naglaa El-Sherbiny, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Lamia Ahmed Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Nevin Shaaban Abdel Rabbo, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Fayoum, and Mr. Abdel Nasser Bakry Mohamed, Director General of the General Administration for Community Service and Environmental Development, and was attended by a number of doctors and administrators on Monday, February 9, 2026.

Prof. Assem El-Essawy explained that the university organizes a number of medical convoys to serve the residents of Fayoum Governorate, particularly those in the most needy areas and villages. He emphasized that the university spares no effort in utilizing its resources and academic staff to address the problems of the local community.

He added that the medical convoy included a selected group of doctors specializing in internal medicine, pediatrics, rheumatology, ear, nose and throat and dentistry. A total of 890 patients received medical examinations, including 247 internal medicine cases, 216 pediatric cases, 77 ear, nose and throat cases, 297 rheumatology cases, and 53 dental cases. Necessary treatment was dispensed to all patients.

The convoy also included an awareness seminar on the foundations of family building, presented by Dr. Hossam Masoud, a lecturer at the Faculty of Social Work. During the seminar, Dr. Masoud discussed how to establish a stable family and utilize available family resources effectively. He also listened to the problems faced by women in the village and offered them guidance on how to deal with them.
