Under
the patronage of Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and
Scientific Research, Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University,
inaugurated the 12th National Forum for the Ideal Student
Competition and the 5th National Forum for the "Goodwill
Ambassadors" Initiative at the level of Egyptian universities. The event
was organized by the General Administration for Student Welfare at Fayoum
University.
The
opening ceremony was held on Monday, May 4, 2026, in the university's Grand
Celebration Hall, under the supervision of Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice
President for Education and Student Affairs. Also in attendance were Mr. Ahmed
Rashad, Secretary General of the University, many deans and vice deans, members
of the competition's judging panel, and participating delegations from various
Egyptian universities.The event took
place in the university's Grand Celebration Hall.
Prof.
Yasser Magdy Hatata stated that Fayoum University has been organizing this
competition for twelve years, considering it one of the most prestigious
competitions where top Egyptian university students compete on academic,
ethical, and cultural levels. He explained that the number of participating
universities this year reached 19, including public, private, and national
universities.
He also
praised the organization of the "Goodwill Ambassadors" initiative
forum, which discusses issues facing students with disabilities and how to
support them and provide solutions to their problems, reflecting the
humanitarian aspect of the forum. Sixteen public, private, and national
universities are participating in this forum.
For his
part, Professor Sherif El-Attar explained that Fayoum University believes in
the importance of developing students academically and culturally and preparing
them in a way that meets the needs of society so they can be active members of
the future.
He
added that achieving excellence comes through the integration of academic and
cultural aspects, in addition to participation in activities that equip
students with many of the skills required for life after graduation.
He emphasized
that organizing the "Goodwill Ambassadors" initiative forum comes
within the framework of striving to integrate students with disabilities into
various aspects of academic and professional life. He noted that Fayoum
University is making every effort to ensure the forum's success and the
achievement of its desired goals.
Prof. Wael
Tobar, the university's General Coordinator of Student Activities, indicated
that the competition includes several tests, including a written exam in
general and cultural knowledge, essay writing, English language skills,
computer skills, a presentation test, and assessments of student activities,
among others. The competition will run from May 3rd to 6th, 2026.
During
the opening ceremony, Mariam Hani, who received the title of Ideal Student last
year at Kafr El-Sheikh University, explained that the forum provides a genuine
opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas, acquire diverse skills, and
learn about the landmarks of Fayoum Governorate. She added that it helps
students identify their individual strengths and weaknesses to leverage during
the competition.
