Faculty of Dentistry Organizes First Job Fair to Empower Young Dentists for Sustainable Development

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, hosted Prof. Gihan Fikry, President of Sinai University, on Monday, May 4, 2026, as part of the activities of the first job fair for empowering young dentists for sustainable development.

Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President of Fayoum University for Community Service and Environmental Development, expressed his gratitude to all the entities supporting the first job fair. He emphasized the importance of activating the college's alumni follow-up unit to enhance ongoing communication with students and graduates and support them, especially at the professional level. He explained that communication with graduates helps in developing academic programs and postgraduate studies to align with labor market needs, in addition to developing students' employability skills and professional qualifications.

He also affirmed Fayoum University's commitment to continuously updating its educational curricula to meet labor market demands, expressing his hope that the outcomes of the job fair would contribute to supporting these efforts and strengthening communication with graduates.

Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President of Fayoum University for Education and Student Affairs, affirmed that the university is committed to supporting and preparing students and graduates for the job market by developing their practical and professional skills. This includes providing specialized training programs and courses that meet the demands of the job market, continuously striving to enhance the capabilities of students and graduates, and bridging the gap between academic and practical learning. This approach contributes to producing qualified professionals capable of competing and achieving career success.

He added that the university places great importance on providing a comprehensive educational and training environment that fosters innovation and continuous development, opening new horizons for graduates in various professional fields.

During the event, Dr. Mohamed El-Touny, Deputy Governor of Fayoum, emphasized the importance of organizing job fairs for dental students and graduates in light of current economic challenges and the rapidly evolving demands of the job market. He noted that the fair represents a significant opportunity for direct communication between graduates and medical institutions and companies specializing in dentistry.

He added that the world is increasingly moving towards education tailored to the needs of the labor market, which contributes to equipping graduates with the required skills and opening new horizons for training and employment. He urged students and graduates to seize this opportunity and benefit from the expertise and organizations participating in the forum. He commended the efforts of the Faculty of Dentistry administration in organizing the forum and emphasized the importance of continuing such events to support and prepare young doctors to achieve the desired goals.

 

Prof. Lamia Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, explained that the first job fair for the Faculty of Dentistry—organized by the Faculty in cooperation with the University Career Development Center at Fayoum University—comes within the framework of the university's commitment to linking the educational process with the needs of the labor market and supporting graduates with the training and skills necessary for professional competition. She pointed to the importance of developing curricula and expanding clinical training and continuing education to keep pace with modern developments in the field of dentistry and contribute to preparing graduates capable of meeting the demands of the labor market.

He also emphasized the college's commitment to strengthening cooperation with healthcare institutions and organizing professional events that open new horizons for training and employment for students and graduates.

Prof. Amr Salah, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, added that the first Dentistry College Career Fair comes within the framework of the college's commitment to linking academic studies with the requirements of the labor market and supporting students and graduates with training and qualification opportunities that contribute to preparing qualified personnel capable of competing in the workforce. He also stressed the importance of developing students' practical and professional skills and strengthening cooperation between the college and healthcare and community institutions to support the educational process and professional development.

It is worth noting that the fair included a panel discussion entitled "Be Prepared," moderated by Dr. Emad Abdel Salam, Director of the University Career Development Center and Media Advisor to the President of Fayoum University. The discussion addressed several topics related to linking education with the labor market.

Prof. Gihan Fikry also discussed the role of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in preparing graduates.

The session also addressed the role of Fayoum Governorate in supporting cooperation with the Faculty of Dentistry to contribute to community service. Discussions also covered the role of the Dental Syndicate in supporting graduates and providing a suitable work environment, as well as the role of the Faculty of Dentistry in providing job opportunities for graduates.

The discussion session included clarifying several key points by linking theoretical aspects to practical realities. A series of joint lectures were also held on the role of the University Center for Professional Development in enhancing graduate competence, developing career planning skills, and meeting labor market demands. The services offered to students and graduates were reviewed, and a lecture addressed the latest advancements in digital imaging techniques for prosthodontics. This lecture highlighted the technological developments in the field that contribute to increased accuracy and speed of treatment procedures and improved quality of replacements for missing parts, ultimately benefiting patients. On the sidelines of the forum, an exhibition featuring various dental and oral health supplies was opened.

It is worth mentioning that the first job fair was attended by Dr. Naglaa El Sherbini, Dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine, Dr. Amal Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Walid Hassan, Head of the Cairo Dental Syndicate, Dr. Maha El Qershi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry in Fayoum for Education and Student Affairs, the participating faculty members from the Egyptian Russian University and Zagazig University, administrators and students.
