The
Community Service and Environmental Development Council held its 214th
meeting, chaired by Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President of the University for
Community Service and Environmental Development, under the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy
Hatata, President of Fayoum University, and attended by the esteemed members of
the Council, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the University's Central
Library.
Prof.
Assem El-Essawy indicated that the Council discussed the activities of the
Community Service and Environmental Development sector, in addition to the work
of specialized centers and units. The Council was also informed of Fayoum
University's rise of 210 places globally and two places nationally in the 2026
QS World University Rankings for Sustainable Development.
The
council also reviewed a report on Fayoum University’s efforts in participating
in the presidential afforestation initiative “100 Million Trees”, and the “Hour
of Solidarity – 60 Minutes of Giving Makes a Difference” initiative, as an
interactive space that brings together faculty members and students, and
contributes to consolidating the values of social responsibility and national
belonging, and supporting the vision of the Ministry of Social Solidarity in
building bridges of cooperation with Fayoum University.
