Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President for
Education and Student Affairs, attended the closing ceremony of the first
"Nagham 1" Music Festival – the Sayed Darwish Cycle – organized by
the General Administration for Student Welfare – Department of Cultural and
Artistic Activities, under the
patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University. The
ceremony was also attended by a number of deans and vice deans of faculties,
Prof. Wael Tobar, General Coordinator of Student Activities, artist Ezzat Zein,
the festival's guest of honor, Ms. Salwa Fouad, Director General of Student
Welfare, and members of the judging panel, which included: Mr. Syada Ali
Mahmoud, Music Education Supervisor; musician Salah Mahmoud Zaky; Maestro Wael
Hamdy, trainer of the Fayoum University Choir; and a number of faculty members,
administrators, and students. The event took place on Wednesday, November 19,
2025, in the university's Grand Celebration Hall.
Prof. Sherif El-Attar affirmed that this festival
was born grand and is a true reflection of Fayoum University's commitment to
supporting student talent and artistic creativity. He expressed his pride in
the outstanding artistic level and refined vocal performances he witnessed,
wishing all participating students success and good fortune.
Prof. Wael Tobar also noted that the inaugural
Nagham Festival was more than just an artistic event; it served as a platform
for discovering vocal talent. He highlighted the genuine talents showcased,
reflecting the exceptional spirit of Fayoum University students. He emphasized
that art cultivates awareness and reshapes the relationship between students
and society, and thanked the university administration for its support, which
enabled the festival to reach such a high and professional standard.
Mr. Wael Hamdy, representing the festival's
judging panel, praised the outstanding artistic level of the participating
students. He outlined the panel's objectives and recommendations, which
included developing student leadership for the university choir, refining vocal
harmony, and nurturing exceptional student talent, all while upholding the
festival's values and mission. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the
festival results were announced, and the winning colleges and singers were
