Fayoum University has achieved outstanding
distinction in the Shanghai Ranking of Academic Subjects 2025, under the
patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, and the
supervision of Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and
Environmental Development and Supervisor of the Postgraduate Studies and
Research Sector.
The university appeared in the 301–400 band among
the top 500 universities globally in the field of Agricultural Sciences, and
ranked fifth among Egyptian universities.
The ranking also marked the university's first
appearance in the 301–400 band among the top 400 universities globally in the
field of Energy Sciences and Engineering, achieving second place nationally
among Egyptian universities.
It is worth noting that the current edition of
the Shanghai Ranking includes 57 academic disciplines across the fields of: Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life
Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences.
The ranking relies on the Clarivate database as its primary source of information, and the evaluation is based on five key criteria:
1. Faculty Class – World:
This includes Laureates, highly cited researchers, editors-in-chief of international academic journals, and researchers holding leadership positions in international academic organizations.
2. Output Class – World:
This includes the number of papers published in top-quality journals and international academic awards.
3. Number of papers published in Q1 journals.
4. Qualitative Citation Index (CNCI) per subject.
