Fayoum
University, under the leadership of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, extends its
heartfelt congratulations to its community on achieving third place among
public universities under 20 years old in the Best Environmentally Friendly
University competition for the 2024/2025 academic year. This achievement was
announced during the Supreme Council of Universities meeting held at Suez Canal
University.
Dr.
Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, announced
the competition results during the Council's regular meeting, in the presence
of Major General Akram Galal, Governor of Ismailia; Prof. Nasser Mandour,
President of Suez Canal University; Dr. Moustafa Refaat, Secretary General of
the Supreme Council of Universities; and other Council members. The Minister
honored the winning universities and presented awards to their presidents. Prof.
Assem Fouad El-Essawy, Vice President of the University for Community Service
and Environmental Development and Supervisor of Postgraduate Studies and
Cultural Relations, received the Fayoum University Award on behalf of Prof.
Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of the University.

University's achievement of this ranking is a culmination of its efforts in
promoting environmental sustainability, developing environmentally friendly
projects on campus, and supporting initiatives aimed at raising environmental
awareness among students and staff.
It is
worth noting that this accomplishment was made possible as a result of the
participation and cooperation of all university sectors, which contributed
effectively to implementing environmental programs and initiatives and meeting
the competition's criteria.

University affirms its commitment to continuing to implement further plans and
projects that enhance its position as a leading university in the fields of
sustainability and the environment.
