Fayoum
University achieved advanced rankings in the Times Higher Education World
University Rankings by Subject 2026, appearing in four scientific disciplines
at both the global and national levels: Physical Sciences, Life Sciences,
Engineering, and Medical Sciences.
According
to the ranking data, the university's Physics ranking saw significant
improvement, placing it in the 601-800 band globally after advancing
approximately 200 places compared to the previous year. It also climbed two
places nationally, securing third place among Egyptian universities.
Fayoum
University also appeared in the Life Sciences band within the 501-600 band
globally and achieved third place nationally.
In
Engineering, the university ranked within the 601-800 band globally and third
place nationally among Egyptian universities.
Finally,
the university appeared in the Medical Sciences band within the 1001+ band
globally and achieved sixth place nationally among Egyptian universities.
The
Times Higher Education World University Rankings is one of the most prestigious
global university rankings. It uses five key indicators to evaluate
universities:
Teaching
(30%), which includes academic reputation, student-to-faculty ratio, ratio of
undergraduate to doctoral degree holders, percentage of faculty with
doctorates, and institution income.
Research
(30%), which includes research reputation, research income, and research output.
Research
quality (30%), measured by citations.
International
relations (7.5%) include the percentage of international students, the
percentage of international faculty, and international collaborations.
Industry
and innovation income (2.5%) include knowledge transfer and patents.
