Sheikh Prof. Ahmed Abdel-Azim El-Basily, Professor at the Faculty of Islamic
Call at Al-Azhar University, as part of an educational seminar organized by the
Community Service and Environmental Development Sector entitled "The
Prophet's Biography and the Promotion of Human Values." The seminar was
attended by Prof. Assem Fouad El-Essawy, Vice President of the University for
Community Service and Environmental Development, along with several deans and
vice deans of faculties, His Eminence Sheikh Mahmoud Hassanin, Director of the
Central Administration of the Fayoum Al-Azhar Region, His Eminence Sheikh
Salama Abdel-Razek, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments in Fayoum,
general managers, administrators, and students. The event took place on
Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in the university's main celebration hall.
In his
address, Prof. Assem El-Essawy emphasized that the seminar aimed to draw
lessons and insights from the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
and apply them to build a conscious and educated generation committed to sound
morals and values, thus contributing to the well-being of society.
During
the seminar, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al-Basily addressed three main objectives
encompassing the seminar's cognitive, behavioral, and skills-based themes. He
pointed out that many of the problems we face in life have solutions found in
the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), emphasizing the
crucial importance of studying the Prophet's biography in our daily lives.
He also
discussed the importance of marital conduct within the family according to the
Prophet's example, citing several examples from the Prophet's household and
discussing his advice to both men and women. He explained that Islam granted
women their full rights and instructed us to treat them with kindness, and that
following the Prophet's path brings tranquility to homes, especially during
this period of rising divorce rates among young people.
Furthermore,
he explained how to develop life skills by following the Sunnah (practices) of
our noble Prophet in all aspects of life, seeking the pleasure of Allah and His
Messenger. This benefits both the individual and society, leading to happiness
and stability.
Sheikh
Mahmoud Hassanin commended Fayoum University's enlightened role in preparing
and developing young minds, praising the fruitful cooperation between the
university and Al-Azhar, which is exemplified by the regular participation of
Al-Azhar scholars in numerous activities and events. He also thanked the
university administration for their warm welcome and excellent organization.
For his
part, Sheikh Salama Abdel-Razek emphasized the importance of the seminar in
promoting learning and the role of adhering to values and ethics in building
societies. He added that good conduct enriches societies and builds
civilizations, especially when it is crowned with knowledge, certainty, and
virtuous morals. He called for the necessity of emulating the Prophet, peace
and blessings be upon him, in all interactions and behaviors.
