Prof.
Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, and Prof. Assem El-Essawy,
Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, received
Sheikh Taha El-Noamani, a reciter on Egyptian Radio and Head of the Fayoum
Reciters Syndicate, and Sheikh Yassin Yassin Abdel Hamid, an imam at the
Ministry of Religious Endowments, during a seminar organized by the General
Administration of Community Service and Environmental Development. The seminar
was attended by several deans and vice deans, the coordinator of student
activities, faculty members, directors, staff, and students. It was held on
Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in the conference hall of the Central Library.
Prof.
Assem El-Essawy emphasized the importance of such seminars, which contribute to
developing and renewing the spiritual and religious aspects of students,
especially during the holy month of Ramadan. He noted the university
administration's commitment to building the minds and character of students in
all scientific, cultural, ethical, and religious aspects.
Sheikh
Yassin Yassin Abdel Hamid spoke about the virtues of Laylat Al-Qadr, that
night, honored by the revelation of the Quran, is a night of great honor and
significance, for on it, the destiny of humankind is determined through
supplication and prayer to Allah.
His
Eminence then explained the concept of divine decree and predestination.
Predestination is what Allah has written for humankind in His foreknowledge,
and divine decree is the execution of this written destiny. He further explained
that Allah's response to supplications takes three forms: either the
supplication is answered in this life, or harm is averted from the person, or Allah
reserves it for the Hereafter.
Sheikh
Taha Al-Nu'mani then presented a beautiful recitation of the Quran and
religious supplications.
At the
end of the seminar, Prof. Assem Al-Essawy presented the two esteemed sheikhs
with the University of Fayoum shield in appreciation of their efforts.
