Prof.Yasser
Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, met Counselor Mohamed Attia, Head
of the Executive Authority of the General Authority for Literacy and Adult
Education, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between Fayoum University and
the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education.
The
meeting was attended by Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President of the University
for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Sherif El-Attar,
Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Amal
Rabea, General Coordinator of the Community Literacy Project (Literacy Axis)
and Former Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University; and Mr. Sayed
Hassan, Director of the Authority's branch in Fayoum Governorate. The meeting
took place on Monday, May 4, 2026.
During
the meeting, Fayoum University's participation and achievements in the
Community Literacy Project (Literacy Axis) were discussed. The university
achieved first place (with a percentage of 62%) out of a total of 23
participating institutions at the level of Fayoum Governorate. The university
also contributed to bringing the number of people freed from illiteracy to
46,725 from the people of Fayoum Governorate until the last January session. In
addition, the university participated in developing functional literacy exams
and producing 12 models in mathematics and 12 models in Arabic language, and
participated in the committee to evaluate the curriculum of the book and screen
for adult education in cooperation with the team of the General Authority for
Literacy and Adult Education.
