Under
the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University,
Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental
Development, accompanied by Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President for Education
and Student Affairs, inaugurated a student exhibition entitled "A
Designer's Touch in Pleating" at the Faculty of Specific Education.
The
opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Hany Abdel-Badi, Dean of the Faculty;
Prof. Ashraf El-Abbasy, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Science; Prof. Ghada
Youssef, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education for Education and
Student Affairs; Dr. Reham Ramadan Abdel-Fattah, Lecturer of Clothing and
Textiles and supervisor of the exhibition; and a number of faculty members and
students. The event took place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Faculty.
The
exhibition aimed to highlight student creativity in fashion design, draping,
and transforming textiles into contemporary artistic designs using various
techniques such as draping, folding, and pleating. The exhibition included a
collection of artistic designs for clothes and evening dresses executed by
fourth-year students of the Home Economics Department. The executed works
included multiple materials, most notably silk fabrics, chiffon, satin, and
lace, with artistic and technical use of decorative elements, hand embroidery,
and beads to produce innovative creative visions.
