Under the patronage of
Professor Yasser Hatata, President of Fayoum University, Professor Assem Fouad
El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development
and Supervisor of Postgraduate Studies and Research, announced that Fayoum
University has maintained its distinguished ranking in the 2026 Round
University Ranking (RUR). The university achieved 14th place nationally among
Egyptian universities, advancing five places from last year, and 1019th place
globally out of 2403 universities.
Professor Kamal
Ghallab, the university's international rankings coordinator, explained that
the Round University Ranking (RUR) is an international university ranking
system published by the Russian RUR Foundation since 2010. It evaluates over
2,400 universities from 95 countries worldwide, primarily based on four
criteria: Teaching (40%), Research (40%), International Diversity (10%), and
Sustainability (10%). Each criterion comprises sub-indicators such as
faculty-to-student ratio, academic reputation, research citations,
international research visibility, number of international students, and other
indicators.
