Fayoum University Discusses Laboratory System Development

Under the auspices of Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Acting President of Fayoum University and Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and the supervision of Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Supervisor of Postgraduate Studies, Cultural Relations, and Research, Prof. Mahmoud El-Habak, Director of the National Bank for Laboratories and Scientific Equipment at the Supreme Council of Universities, inspected the laboratory systems at the Faculties of Agriculture, Science, Medicine, and Pharmacy.

The inspection took place on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in the presence of Prof. Buthaina Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; Prof. Naglaa El-Sherbiny, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Shaaban El-Nesr, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for Community Service and Environmental Development, Deputy Director of the University's Project Management Unit, and coordinator of the visit; and a number of vice deans, heads of academic departments, and faculty members.

The visit was attended by Prof. Buthaina Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; Prof. Naglaa El-Sherbiny, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Shaaban El-Nesr, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for Community Service and Environmental Development, Deputy Director of the University's Project Management Unit, and coordinator of the visit; and several other vice deans, heads of academic departments, and faculty members from the faculties.

The visit comes as part of Fayoum University's commitment to enhancing its scientific research infrastructure, thereby strengthening the university's standing and reflecting its dedication to advancing scientific research and serving the community. This also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the highest levels of quality and excellence, as well as boosting competitiveness at both the local and international levels.

Prof. Mahmoud El-Habak explained that the visit reflects the Supreme Council of Universities' interest in providing technical support to Egyptian universities and bolstering their efforts to develop the central laboratories, research units, and scientific equipment that distinguish Fayoum University's faculties. The aim is to raise awareness of these facilities and provide the necessary technical support to improve the efficiency of the laboratories and make them available through the National Bank of Laboratories and Scientific Equipment platform, serving researchers within the framework of a comprehensive national plan to develop the research infrastructure in Egyptian universities.
