As part
of its community role, Fayoum University organized a veterinary convoy to
provide free examination and treatment for livestock and sheep in the village
of Al-Nasiriya, Fayoum Center, on Monday, September 29, 2025. The convoy was
held under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansary, Governor of Fayoum, and Prof.
Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of the University, and under the supervision of
Prof. Assem Al-Essawy, Vice President of the University for Community Service
and Environmental Development Affairs, in cooperation with the Directorate of
Veterinary Medicine in Fayoum, the Veterinarians Syndicate, and the Food
Inspection and Control Department of the General Administration of University
Cities at the University. The convoy was attended by Dr. Shaimaa Mohamed
Ramadan, Director of the Seminars and Conferences Department at the Community
Service and Environmental Development Sector, and included extensive
participation from specialized veterinarians. 2,352 livestock and sheep were
examined and provided free treatment. The convoy's efforts included vaccinating
807 cases and treating 356 internal diseases, including poisoning, respiratory,
and digestive diseases. The convoy also performed 19 surgeries, examining 930
poultry, and treating diseases affecting poultry production. The convoy team
also provided veterinary guidance to breeders on preventive methods and ongoing
health care, which contributes to preserving livestock and improving production.
Dr.
Wagdy Moustafa, Director of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Fayoum,
emphasized that these convoys represent real support for breeders and alleviate
their economic burdens, especially with the spread of parasitic and
reproductive diseases. Dr. Ali Saad Ali, Head of the Veterinarians Syndicate in
Fayoum, explained that the convoy came at an important time to address the
challenges facing the livestock sector in the governorate, noting that raising
health awareness among breeders is a fundamental pillar for protecting
livestock and strengthening the local economy. This convoy is part of a series
of veterinary convoys organized by Fayoum University in villages and centers
across the governorate, supporting community partnerships and ensuring the
sustainability of veterinary healthcare.
